I have been co-teaching the Foundations in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at ELTE with Dr. Gorana Misic (University of Glasgow, UK) since 2021. We experimented with different teaching strategies and assignments. We found the peer teaching approach very useful, which is modeled on the method of microteaching in teacher education and requires students to take a step back from the notion of ‘how it is done in my discipline’ and move towards a reflective-collaborative approach. They thus collectively design a teaching session by co-constructing or even reinventing teaching strategies that may constitute signature pedagogies from their disciplines. In 2022, we offered the course in a hybrid format and re-designed it with a perspective to online accessibility.
