The Online Academy of the Global Labour University (GLU) is a global initiative which pioneered online education offerings in decentralized, globally connected learning spaces for workers and trade unionists. Dr. Edlira Xhafa, Executive Director of GLU and researcher at the University of Kassel, Germany, invited me to conduct a series of online workshops on Designing for blended learning: Strategies for adult learners and (Online) Participatory learning and action. In the 4 workshops (each having 50+ online participants), I led online discussions and group work activities about useful online and blended teaching strategies, and shared practices of designing for adult learning. The workshop series resulted in participants’ collaborative teaching plans for interactive training which incorporated learning materials from the GLU’s online course “Just and green: labor’s ecological question”.
